Busk’s filmmaking career began in his teens when he first began playing around with a Mini DV camcorder and a group of skateboarders in his local village carpark. Fast forward a few years (and a few winters living and filming with a group of professional skiers and snowboarders) a chance encounter led him to work as a camera operator in the band touring industry, filming acts such as the Rolling Stones, Kiss and Muse.

Deciding to leave the live industry in search of a more storytelling role, Arran sought out subjects to make films about. One of his first attempts at storytelling, a film about a Globemaker called Peter Bellerby, became a staff pick on Vimeo. During this time he cut his teeth in London, UK undertaking various roles as Producer, Director of Photography, Editor and Colourist.

Arran has always been drawn to telling stories of real people. His experience and understanding of lighting and camera movement, as well as his approachable and friendly nature, combine well to craft heartfelt stories that captivate audiences. Much of his work as a Director has a documentary approach, this has naturally led him into branded content, and subsequently commercial work.

Studying black and white photography at college, Arran’s always had a strong interest in different image making formats, often shooting with Super8mm film cameras, and in his spare time with medium format and 35mm cameras.
 

Arran grew up in the South East of England, spent a solid decade working in London, and now splits his time between London, Oslo and Falmouth - the latter where he calls home.

When not working Arran can be found high up on a European mountain top, surfing in Cornwall, or spending time with his daughter in Oslo, Norway.
